This is a template i came up with for an owl 50th birthday card.

So it is 28.5cm long page score at 4.75cm and then at 9.5cm. and then at 19cm. and 14.75cm tall page.

Then on the front it is cut at 2.5cm in and 2.5cm up for 9.75 cm. and then score on either side of that the same length at 0.5cm out from the cut.

Then before it is folded out you hold it flat and half cut an owl punch out of the middle section you have just cut.

Then i have stamped the owl and punched it out and used a piece of card to attach it to one side of the owl hole in the card so it moves a little when the card pops out, and then stuck a piece of patterned paper over the back, so you can see it through the left side of the owl punch in the brown card. and then to neaten the inside i placed a piece of brown card over the back and stuck it down between the cut and fold lines so you can't see the construction.

Folds out from booth side. It also has a slit so that you can sit it up in a triangle to see it from all angles.

This one is done with a soft cover book but would work best with a hard cover book.
